Sizing Information

If you are ordering Aura shoes based off of your current shoe size, please confirm there is at least a ½ inch of space in front of your toes on your current running shoes. If not, then it is recommended to go up a ½ size from your current size. For optimal performance and to prevent injuries, your foot needs room to work naturally inside the shoe. The shoe should fit snug in the heel and loose in the toe area. Aura shoes are designed on this premise if fitted properly.

Also note many people have feet that are of slightly different sizes. If this is the case for you, please make your sizing choices based off your larger foot.

Adjusting to the Shoes

Your Aura shoes featuring DSS require no break in period to work effectively. However, due to the unique nature of DSS cushioning, for some it make take a couple of wearings to get used to the feel and responsiveness that the shoes provide. After you become accustomed to the how the shoes work, you will notice that you are less fatigued due to the enhanced cushioning and that the shoes aid in forward propulsion due to the responsiveness of DSS.

Shoe weight Information

The Mercury and Spartan shoes are not considered "light-weight" shoes and are in general slightly heavier than other less cushioned and less responsive shoes. While for racing and marathons, you might consider a "light weight" shoe, for training purposes it is always recommended to wear a more protective and stabilizing shoe to decrease the effect that long term training can have on your legs, knees, hips and back.

If you are a very efficient runner with a soft heel strike, and/or are considered small or light weight, then you may be able to get away with training in a light weight shoe. However, runners with a moderate to heavy heel strike, or that may require a bit more stability from their shoe, or that are of a medium or heavier build, will experience great benefit from the shock absorbing and stability features of these shoes.
